TAKE A BOW BOYS
SIX months on from the Star Entertainment Group’s launch of The Darling’s rooftop bar and restaurant, those involved deserve a pat on the back.
Now well known as Nineteen at the Star, the restaurant and associated bar lounge – yes, on the 19th floor – has proved a much-needed and stunning new addition to the hospitality landscape.
Was there ever any doubt it would be? When the Bulletin revealed early on that top restaurateur Simon Gloftis and renowned entertainment entrepreneur Billy Cross had been selected by Star as their partners in the venture, the odds were always on it being a success.
Ready just in time for use during the Commonwealth Games, it was a hit.
The Australian swim team used it for the after-party of their campaign – and it left you wondering where else they might have held a star-studded affair like in the requisite privacy and style they were after.
It is no wonder the venue is now seeing thousands through each week – and so it should. It has added to the breadth of hospitality this city is well known for.
