THERE
couldn’t be any clearer example of a government bereft of ideas and a plan than Annastacia Palaszczuk’s administration.
Its shortcomings were exposed for all to see this weekend.
In January this year the LNP under leader Deb Frecklington announced its first two major policies, the introduction of real time fuel price monitoring and a comprehensive plan to combat the scourge of ice including four new ice detox and rehab centres across the state.
We are now in October and we have finally heard from the Premier about ice where she said “more ice rehab centres may be needed”.
If ever there was an understatement by our out-of-touch Premier that was it. Ice is ripping Gold Coast communities apart but here we are, months after the LNP announced our comprehensive plan and Labor are just saying maybe something should be done.
The other example of this lazy Labor Government is fuel prices. Gold Coast residents have been gouged at the bowser for most of this year but instead of acting straight away, Ms Palaszczuk was dragged kicking and screaming to adopt the LNP’s real time fuel price monitoring policy.
A policy that is saving motorists in NSW $6 a tank, and expected to save families $500 a year.
You’d think Labor would be itching to offer price relief to motorists but instead we will have to wait until April for any action.
Queenslanders need leadership and this Government can’t even follow the homework the LNP have given them, let alone come up with any original ideas or plan. TIM MANDER, DEPUTY OPPOSITION LEADER
