Pregnancy stats shock

CONTRACEPT­ION is being given the cold shoulder by Australian women with more than half of unintended pregnancie­s the result of unprotecte­d sex.

A study, published yesterday in the Medical Journal of Australia and collected by La Trobe University researcher­s, gives a rare insight into how women react to a positive pregnancy test. Of more than 2570 women interviewe­d, 1390 or 69 per cent had been pregnant in the last decade with more than a quarter of those pregnancie­s “unintended” and half of those women did not use any contracept­ion.
