Tourist killed in gunfight

AN Indian tourist has been killed and four people injured in a rare gunfight in central Bangkok, police say.

The gunfight broke out at a shopping mall late on Sunday when two groups of Thais playing snooker started quarrelling, according to Wittayakorn Suwanruengsri of Bangkok’s Phayathai police.

The fight spilled into a parking lot where tourists who had finished dinner at the mall were waiting to be transported back to their hotels, according to Mr Wittayakorn.

Two Thais, another Indian and one Laotian national were injured.
