YOUNG OLYMPIAN
HOCKEY sensation Morgan Mathison is representing Team Australia in Hockey 5s in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games
She is a member of the Australian squad taking on 4000 of the world’s best young athletes.
Eighteen-year-old Morgan, pictured, is the only hockey player from Queensland and said she was excited to play alongside many of the athletes she’s often opposed.
Both men’s and women’s teams qualified for Buenos Aires after winning the regional qualifiers in Papua New Guinea in May.
Australia took about 100 athletes to the third Youth Olympic Games in the Argentinian capital this week.
The team is out to defend two gold medals won at previous games so there is plenty of expectations to do well. You can follow Morgan’s progress through social media channels @AusOlympicTeam and at Olympics.com.au.
