RIYAD Mahrez has missed a late penalty as English Premier League title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City fought out a goalless draw at Anfield.

City’s record signing Mahrez blazed over the bar with his 85th-minute spot-kick on Sunday after Virgil van Dijk had up-ended substitute Leroy Sane with a rash challenge.

Chelsea are level with City and Liverpool on 20 points after their comfortable 3-0 win at Southampton.
