D-day for tower plan

-

CITY leaders will today decide the fate of a controversial 20-storey highrise tower planned for Main Beach.

The 52-unit project put forward by developer Hapsberg will go before the Gold Coast City Council’s planning committee this morning after facing intense criticism from Main Beach residents.

The fight against the project has been led by the Main Beach Association, supported by radio identity Ray Hadley.

The council last year rejected a 46-storey proposal by the same developer for the site.
