Clive drops plan to sue

CLIVE Palmer has dropped his plans to sue Queensland Nickel liquidators for $1.8 billion, a day after a judge castigated the former politician’s legal team for turning up to court unprepared.

The special purpose liquidators say Mr Palmer’s corporate entities withdrew, in the Supreme Court of Queensland, counterclaims brought against them in relation to $1.8 billion in alleged damages.

“The SPLs are committed to ensuring the claims QNI has issued in the Supreme Court are heard on 29 April 2019 as currently timetabled and without further delay,” they said.
