To BB at Nth GC, who doesn’t want a CST, casino or a sky rail in his or her backyard. You are the type of cry baby who is against anything and everything, go and join the the whacko rent-a-crowd dole bludgers protesting at the proposed Adani mine. Ken Wade is streets ahead of you BB. Mick, unemployed miner Nerang.

BB Nth GC, we would love these at the Tweed but need a new progressive non leftie greenie council first. OTP

So multinational companies have been forced to pay an extra $5.6 billion in tax after two years of investigation. Just whose side were the ALP on when they decided to raise the retirement age to 67 in the 2009 Budget papers to save spending $5 billion?

I think its about time Tugun got more banks in our community. I needed to break down 100 notes to smaller notes and coin but was told they are “not allowed” to do so because I’m not a customer at that bank! How ridiculous is that? A bank is a bank where you can get all the change etc required. isn’t it? However not so, being a local for over 32 years I’ve seen Tugun grow into the best holiday village around but only one bank! Now we have to go to The Pines or Coolangatta for our banking ... it is taking buisness.

Five hot air balloons up over Nerang this morning ... visitors enjoying a bird’s eye view of our beautiful Gold Coast! Ma

Dear Help, easy solution to your allergies to imported food: buy Australian! Also supports local farmers and their employees. Curly Bells

Hey BB, wow what a dummy spit that was, (Chatroom 9/10). Surly you don’t think they would enter through the existing narrow seaway, the plan is to widen it. As for a CST, a casino and a sky rail, imagine the jobs they would generate, but you whinging greenies couldn’t care less about the unemployed. Ken

Re Ken Wade’s rants about the state of the Queensland Government. Well you forgot one thing, you live in NSW, so it’s not your problem. Terry of Kingscliff

It won’t be long before a foreign country looks at running its fellow citizens’ investments in Australia, they look at Australia being the Venezuela of the Pacific.

Darrel, wish u would go back 2 sydney and take a few of ur mates with u.

How does Luke Keary get a

call-up to Kangas side? Played one good game. Bourkey

If there’s no property bubble, why can’t I get a moment’s rest without reading or hearing about it for the last 18 months? Where there’s smoke there’s fire. Starting to believe.

What’s to be explained here? It’s a no-brainer! Women deserve respect of their personal choice if they wish to abort a foetus they are carrying. The laws are archaic. Well said Meaghan Scanlon. LS

GC traffic light controllers should take note of a new traffic lights control system being trialled in Birmingham city known as the Green Wave (as seen on SBS 8.30pm Monday 8/10/18), so that when a driver gets a green light and drives at the desired speed you will get continuous green lights, reducing air pollution and congestion. Coming from Bundall I get the red wave. Just as I approach the next traffic light it changes to red at Vespa Cres and every intersection on Ferry Rd/High St to North St. The constant stopping and idling is costing motorists excessively in time and money. Would like to thank the gentleman who paid for my petrol today 8/10/18 at Nerang Petrol Station Crn Grenfell St & Spencer Rd. Thank you for putting a smile on an old lady’s face.

Now the latest in fast future travelling, a bullet train to get people from the GC to Briz in 45 minutes. What about the tradies who need to have their trade tools with them all the time and work in Briz suburbs where there is no train service, will they have to use taxis from rail stations to their job sites? No thanks I’ll keep using my ute. Bruce a tradie. What used to be a pleasant stroll along the walkway from First Ave to the Oasis, Broadbeach is becoming very hazardous with the number of motorised skateboards, scooters and push bikes “flying” along the footpath. Someone is going to get hurt if council don’t take some steps to fix the problem. At the very least there should be a centre line marked with arrows either side, encouraging people to stay left or right. I’m sure this wouldn’t blow the budget? Dehog

Has Annastacia lost her mind wanting to bid for an Olympic Games when it will take 20 years to clear the $2.2 billion debt for the cost of hosting the Comm Games. For God’s sake, bring back the Campbell Newman LNP Gov to stop Labor’s non-stop big spending. Noel.
