Stab accused to remain in custody

A MAN charged with attempted murder following a Gold Coast stabbing frenzy which left two people with serious injuries will remain in custody until December.

Brent Jeffrey Hile, 24, did not appear in the Southport Magistrate­s Court yesterday after the alleged attack at a Worongary address at 7am on Wednesday.

Police allege the Clayfield man stabbed a man and a woman with knives before leaving the scene. He was later found at Beechmont.

Emergency services reported a woman received multiple wounds to her arms, face and left hip, while a man received laceration­s to his upper left arm and chin.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoma­n said paramedics were forced to wait for police due to the volatile nature of the incident.

Paramedics transporte­d the two patients to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Hile has been charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault and enter dwelling with intent.

Hile’s defence lawyer, Lee Quinn of Hannay Lawyers, made no applicatio­n for bail.

The matter was adjourned to December 20.
