MAIN BEACH DECISION A WATERSHED

THE decision by councillors at a planning committee meeting this week to approve a 20-storey tower on Main Beach Paradise is a line-in-sand moment with some residents.

While leaders of the Main Beach Association were never confident of the application being rejected, they remain furious about the lack of councillors, Gary Baildon and Peter Young aside, speaking against it.

This group, which includes some smart semiretired professionals ,have never lost a battle with the council, so expect some councillors to be targeted now in the lead-up to the next poll.
