I HAVE always found it interesting as well as disappointing that those citizens who demand a say on abortion only seem interested in the unborn child but after it is born into a life of poverty or unable to be supported they tend to go back and hide in Church with the doors locked. Harry

Little New Zealand with no natural resources has unveiled a massive 5 billion surplus with govt debt falling to target levels four years early. They are putting Australia to shame.

To the person whingeing about the bank in Tugun. Instead of whingeing about the bank for looking after its customers, maybe whinge at your bank for not having a local branch for you...simples

Ah nothing like going for a surf before work now the sun’s up earlier. We could call QLD the smart state for saying No to Daylight Savings

Whenever we see big spending promises from various political parties just remember that the money to be spent is ours (taxes) not theirs. Just might curb some misplaced enthusiasm.

Went to a local library on Monday. Ordered a coffee, went upstairs to pick out the Wknd Bulletin, went back downstairs to get the coffee. Was approached by a female staff member who physically took the paper off me, scorned me. I went back upstairs to get the paper again and another female staff member said l can’t come in with my coffee! Won’t be back. Mr Magoo.

Terry of Kingscliff you have enough problems in your own town without criticising others, your town has the highest number of whingers in the entire Northers Rivers who objected to a huge new Tweed police station and now boohooing about a proposed new Tweed hospital site. David and Linda, Tweed Heads

To the people in Wednesday’s Bulletin who obviously don’t read before opening their mouths. My argument was not that I didn’t want those things up my end of the coast but that Ken Wade didn’t want them down his end of the coast but was willing to have them up my end. A CST will never work at the Spit so will have to go out to sea somewhere. We already have a casino up this end of the coast and I don’t want another casino on the coast but by all means bring on a cable car. BB nth GC

The foreign born terrorist, socalled Australian, in Iraq gets the deserved death penalty. If

the low life was in Australia, probation and a disability pension.

The banks now ‘promise’ not to cheat their customers after being caught out by the Royal Commission! You serious!! You stole from people but you want to call it cheating??? GD

Why doesn’t Australia Fair and their security do something about the number of homeless people living and sleeping in the foyer of the Comm Bank and entrance to the carparks of the Centre. It’s a disgrace. Robina and Pacific Fair would move these people on. James, Southport

No wonder Nick the honey badger walked away from the women that were on offer on the bachelor. Smart, intelligent men are single. Have you seen the available females out there? No way in hell would I lose my fancy free single lifestyle. The Mad Rooster

The state and federal govts haven’t got the foresight, the common sense, the will, or the money to complete the missing heavy and light rail links to the GC airport, let alone a super fast rail line to Brizbin. Rod Riguez. Karen the property bubble is very real. 500,000 houses only have a true value of around 380,000 at best. When the housing market bottoms out this will be revealed. The average battler has no idea of the financial wipeout coming. Liz

Today I refueled at 1.39.9, when I went to pay I asked the guy how long will they remain at that price. He told me 2 days maybe. I then asked him how long before the price will start to come down, he said 2 weeks. Time to shop at aldi they dont own fuel stations

Why is the new ferry service missing the Paradise Point wharf? A missed opportunity all round! Toota

Thanks to the ladies on Wednesday approx 2pm who helped me when I had difficulty walking. Also the Security Office who helped me back to Car Thank you all once again. Geoff G

To Deborah Kelly. I drove past the sign on the road outside Bruce Bishop carpark. It showed 1200 available parks. Normal vacancy is 600 to 1100! The Mark carpark is empty. The Hilton is the cheap one at 90 per month! I could go on. The Local

Adding to those who want to know what the Indonesians do with the 600 million aid, I read the warning buoys which failed to warn of the tsunami have not been operational since 2012 due to lack of funding. I guess the priorities are as the critic said, the army and genocide in West Papua. Don’t you think it’s past time we held them accountable for how our aid is utilised? Without upsetting them, naturally. Don
