TEXT: 0416 905 148 Politics sure is confusing. Federal Labor left $3.9 billion in an infrastructure fund unspent. The LNP tried to legislate for that money to go towards the NDIS but Labor would not support the transfer. So the LNP now want to transfer that $3.9 billion into a Drought Infrastructure Fund but Labor says they can’t do it because it would be taking money from the NDIS. Go figure out that logic. GT

It’s not cricket. You only had to listen to the waffle coming from cricket leaders to work out what is wrong with the game. Tocket

Why don’t previous Prime Ministers just go away, out of both sight and hearing? Julia Gillard has remained silent since she was shafted and certainly deserves our respect while the others, Rudd, Turnbull and Abbott in particular have created mayhem. Jillian

No need to go without for struggling families. Three-star steak mince (with a little inexpensive flair) is easy. Bolognese … San Remo pasta and hot dog buns for your hot bread … a tin of homebrand salmon mixed with mashed spud and onions, chopped bit of seasoning and presto – delicious fish cakes. At a cost of around 12 bucks for both … elbow grease beats takeaway grease … Bistro Bob

Yes the can man’s name is Wayne. Top bloke. Also plays ten pin bowling. Wayne is still around the northern end and still going strong. Have served him at the post office for my whole 25-year career.

Best outcome on The Block ever! About time those snotty nosed oh-so-revered and no doubt, way too highly overpaid experts’ reputations are now being questioned. Huge commitment and you did more than good kids! Onya bigtime! About time! These CEOs of cricket, league & AFL have been labelled obnoxious and arrogant. It’s about time these positions were voted on by clubs, players and fans.

Just read Tony Cochrane’s article in Saturday’s Bulletin. Have to tell you Tony you are banging your head against a brick wall. When you suggest anything regarding trading on beaches, the standard response from council is “we have to protect our ratepayers”, referring to the people in the shops near the beaches. You can’t get any further than that! Joan

Hey Bill & Bev retired farmers. Real men kill snakes! I have never seen a snake go looking to kill a kid or pet. Accidents do happen but given a choice – a snake will retreat if it can. There are exceptions ie: large taipans and king

browns but if threatened they will bite as will most. If yards and water sources are kept secure chance meetings are rare. Cannot understand your thoughts as snakes do a service around farm areas taking vermin – I’ve handled large carpet snakes but never venomous – left alone they will leave u alone.

Remember when Keno wan’t rigged, the girls up the casino used to spin the barrel of balls, now it’s the computer and they make winners when they want.

Food suppliers need to secure their carry bags before handing over to Uber drivers. Doug

OMG another cooking show on TV in prime time!! Haven’t they got any imagination? Maybe a crime show (new) – anything! Al.

Smashed Avocado costume! Just brilliant Ann Wason Moore! KB

With Turnbull gone I thought I could vote for Liberal again. Now ScoMo has made his captain’s call in sending Turnbull to Bali to represent us that has gone out the window. Could never vote for Shorten so what does that leave me, Pauline? Surely not If GCWA continue to turn a blind eye to the dozens of long-term house boats; the water quality will never improve. I have personally witnessed dozens of these boats discharging raw sewage straight into the water. GCWA … do something about this. You can clearly see all these craft from your headquarters’ windows! Brent

How many of those people concerned about the welfare of children on Nauru have ever visited the place? It’s not that hard to find children in Australia living in appalling conditions. Barney

The new president of Brazil is being called “far right” by our media. ABC radio sneered that he wants to govern “guided by the Constitution and the Bible” as if that’s a bad thing to do. He wants to clean up entrenched establishment corruption, so naturally the extreme left are outraged. Higgs, Mudgeeraba

Has any one else noticed the similarity between Bill Shorten and the skinny half of Laurel and Hardy? Funny thing is Stan Laurel made me laugh too at the ridiculously stupid things he did and said in front of the camera. Grannie Annie, Nerang

I agree with retired farmers Bill and Bev (GCB 30/10) with their criticism of the man who could have killed the eastern brown stuck in an old car radiator instead of letting it go to maybe bite a child. He might think he is a celebrity saving the deadly snake but let’s hope a hospital can save a person’s life if the same snake bites someone. Charlie, cane farmer.
