GOLD COAST WAS ‘THE RIGHT MOVE FOR US’

-

MAL Meninga had three choices of where to live: Los Angeles, Canberra and the Gold Coast.

They are the three cities his wife Amanda loves most but the Titans’ new head of performance and culture admitted it was not a straightforward discussion to commit to a move north from the nation’s capital.

The couple had only 18 months ago moved to Canberra where they benefited from family connections providing support for them and their three children Zach, 6, Elijah, 5, and Eva, 3 (all pictured right).

“It was a really tough decision,” Meninga said.

“We thrashed it out with the family as well, whether it was the right move for us, not just me.

“We just bought a house down there but at the end of the day it’s something I wanted to do and my wife supports me in doing.

“I find it exciting to actually work around the clock now in the game that I love and put back into the game.

“And from a lifestyle point of view, it’s a wonderful place to come and live.”
