MERMAID BEACH — THEFT

A WOMAN’S wallet was taken from her parked car on Hedges Ave, Mermaid Beach on September 10.

About 6.45am, the woman parked her Holden Astra on the street while she went to the beach. When she returned, the car had been broken into and the wallet stolen.

Her credit card was later used at a nearby convenienc­e store to buy cigarettes and soft drinks. Police would like to speak to the man pictured as he may be able to help their investigat­ion.

A MAN allegedly placed alcohol down his pants and failed to pay for it on three separate occasions in the past month. The value of items stolen was $150. On September 27 at 7.11pm, the man entered a Millaroo Dve liquor store in Helensvale and is accused of taking a 700ml bottle of Smirnoff Vodka (valued at $40) and putting it down his pants. He allegedly left without paying.

Three days later about 6.05pm, the man returned and allegedly stole a 1L Smirnoff Vodka bottle, again by placing it down his pants.

On October 9 at 6.30pm, the man entered the same store for the third time, allegedly taking a 700ml bottle of Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, worth $62.

POLICE would like to speak to the woman pictured about a theft at Helensvale last month.

About 1.35pm on October 9, a woman took a four-pack of Smirnoff Black from the premix fridge at a liquor store in Millaroo Dve, Helensvale. She allegedly put the drinks in her handbag and left without trying to pay for them.
