DOLLY ENJOYS MATERIAL GAINS

THE great singing and dancing aside, what is really causing a stir with the audience at GCLT’s production of Hello Dolly is the costumes. Lavish doesn’t quite do them justice and there is a very good reason. Director Kate Peters has managed to snag most of them from the 2017 Melbourne season, and is also extremely lucky to have her wardrobe team of Shirley Whitehouse and Dawn Warrington. They have been flat out creating dresses with bustles, dozens of pairs of spats for the boys and many other 1800s period costumes.
