TODAY: Slight NE windswell around 1 to 2ft exposed beaches, dissipatin­g during the day. Potential for a late rise in S swell towards 2 to 3ft+ far northern NSW south-facing breaks, up to 3 to 4ft+ from Yamba south. WIND: Early NW to NNW 15 to 25 knots, rapidly easing and tending W to SW ahead of a Southerly change 20 to 30 knots.

TOMORROW: Short-period S swell ranging from 3 to 5ft northern NSW south-facing breaks and wrapping at 2 to 3ft along open beaches and more like 1 to 2ft open beaches. WIND: Early SSW inshore 10 to 20 knots, tending SSE 15 to 20 knots during the morning, then lighter SE in the late afternoon.

SATURDAY: Easing SE swell potentiall­y 2 to 3ft+ exposed northern NSW beaches, grading to 2ft across exposed Qld breaks and 1 to 2ft elsewhere. WIND: Early light and variable tending ESE 10 to 15 knots.

SUNDAY: Leftover SE swell around 2ft+ exposed northern NSW beaches, grading to 1 to 2ft across exposed Qld breaks. WIND: Early light SW/SSW, turning SE 5 to 15 knots in the morning, ESE later.

MONDAY: Slight ESE swell up to 1 to 2ft exposed beaches, grading to 1ft to near-flat in the bays and along the points. WIND: Early light WSW to SSW tending SE 10 to 20 knots in the afternoon.
