BOTTLESHOP ADDED TO MIX IN CAVILL LANE
THE Denwol Group-owned Cavill Lane commercial precinct in Surfers Paradise has added to its tenant profile with a bottleshop.
Elston Venues, which operates the Steampunk Surfers Paradise bar and restaurant, has opened Thirsty Camel Surfers Paradise in a 200sq m tenancy downstairs from its popular watering hole.
The Cavill Lane bottle shop marks the first of four stores Elston Venues plan to roll out in the next 18 months in southeast Queensland under the Thirsty Camel banner.
Elston Venues has secured the trading rights for the Tasmanian brand for southeast Queensland.
Steampunk and Thirsty Camel Surfers Paradise director Grant Rodgers said the bottle shop will provide a “unique offering”.
“This is not a traditional grab-and-go bottle shop, shoppers will have the opportunity to enjoy in-store tastings, not only for wine but rum and premium scotches, plus we will offer a superior level of service not traditionally found in a bottle shop environment,” he said.
The 4425sq m Cavill Lane commercial area at the Hilton was purchased in 2016 by Denwol Group, headed by Sydney-based property investor Phillip Wolanski.
Since then it has undergone something of a revival with the opening of the 8 Street Asian food precinct, which was rebranded as Chop Chop.
