Roadshow riding high Parks set for stellar summer

-

VILLAGE Roadshow theme parks are gearing up for a massive summer with new attractions and revamps to old favourites.

Sea World will today announce its new Sky Flyer, a giant swing chair ride that will soar 33m above the park. It will open mid-December.

The longstanding ScoobyDoo Spooky Coaster: Next Generation ride will reopen after being closed for several weeks for refurbishment.

Nearby, a new Australian Outback Spectacular show will launch, an Aquaman exhibit will open at Movie World and Shaun the Sheep will appear at Paradise Country.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks CEO Clark Kirby said it was one of the biggest lineups of new attractions ever for the theme parks.

“This is an exciting time for our theme parks, with these amazing new attractions adding to our existing line-up of world-class shows, rides and attractions to set us up for a stellar school holidays period,” he said.

“The beauty of these new attractions is that there is something on offer for everyone, from families, teens and adults.

“These new attractions demonstrate our dedication and commitment to the tourism industry and we anticipate visitors will come to the Gold Coast just for these experiences.”

The announcements come just 14 months after Village Roadshow invested $33 million to open the DC Rivals HyperCoaster at Movie World.

The cost of the new rides has not been released.
