Pair proves style doesn’t finish at 50

- EMILY HALLORAN

TWO fashionable and techsavvy Gold Coast mums in their 50s have gained a huge following on Instagram just by posting photos of what they wear.

Best friends Linda Gowdie and Leanne Norris started an Instagram account called thiswiththis to inspire women of their age how to dress and style clothing.

They started the account two years ago and have gathered almost 48,000 followers.

“Being over 50, you can lose your confidence and become unsure of how to dress,” Mrs Norris said. “We like to show you can still look your age, but also with a stylish and elegant twist.”

Before becoming fashion influencers, they had no idea how to use social media.

“We have no professional camera, no lighting, nothing. We just get together every day and have so much fun.

“Our audience is typically 40 to 60 years old. The oldest person we know who follows us is in her 80s.”

The fashionable pair started the business after their children moved away from home.

“We don’t worry about it turning into business or earning money. It’s just a bit of fun,” Mrs Norris said.

The duo was nominated for the style section of the Woman of the Year awards.

The Gold Coast Bulletin’s inaugural Harvey Norman Gold Coast Women of the Year campaign celebrates the city’s leading females.
