The best day of the year coming up ... the last day of Schoolies. O1

Where on Earth are these drop-off points for cans, where you get your cash handed to you immediately? The price of water & beer has risen already to cover costs, but it’s not straightforward for us, who want to deliver our cans/bottles and get our change in return!

Due to the lack of hard evidence, a lot of people don’t believe in global warming, yet they still believe in God! From T.J.

For the love of the Gold Coast can someone, anyone, do something about the traffic lights on our roads? They are that out of synch that they actually create traffic. Treeman

After 15 consecutive years being a toolie on the Coast, I’ve decided next year I will be going to Bali and rocking it with moolies. Broken bones and arrests for all. Brad.

Do these stupid news reporters get paid more to stand in the bad weather in Sydney and fires up north or are they trying to save their jobs?! Hmmmm.

The driving annoyance that has rocketed to the top of my list, is being regularly held up at the lights behind a car with its driver, head down, texting. Watching the green turn arrow come and go without any vehicle movement really tests my patience. Bevan

More people are killed from drugs and alcohol on the road than speeding. Why is so little being done to stop this?

Dave S follow the money on Global Warming – those spruiking it are getting very wealthy very quickly. Gore, Flannery, Attenborough and all the other celebrity scientists. Simon

Try taking bottles & cans to Ashmore Envirobank recycling as we went Saturday, labelled & left them there & money in my bank Wednesday.. lovely people there to help you. Keep up the great work Envirobank. CBB

Well bicycle kev at least when I open me door I only get one. The other nine riders are all abreast taking up a lane of traffic illegally. Da General

Why are so many men walking out of court after assaulting women? They need to spend a couple nights in jail and then get counselling! Read about the Thurman Law in USA. Kim

It’s a pity all these wildlife warriors around the place

make no mention of thousands of homeless families with children going to bed hungry. We all love the wildlife, but we also love children whose protection and survival is far more important. Animals are experts at survival, how do you think they survive in the harsh wilderness, whereas children are not gifted with survival capabilities, but instead rely on the parents. You wildlife warriors need to get your priorities in order. Ken W

The LNP bullies were given a bit of payback when Julia Banks pulled the pin on the Liberals today. She lifted them and pushed them further into minority government. What have you got to say about that Steve Ciobo? Andrew

Clive Palmer’s popularity is up like his cholesterol. And if the Liberal Party don’t get their act together his popularity will keep rising and we’ll end up with a buffoon like Clive in parliament. Make your vote count in 2019. Otherwise you’ll end up with Palmer. And the only taxes he’ll be lowering will be on meat pies. Jane Bottles were returned for 10 cents 40 yrs ago in Adelaide, when going to the footy (AFL) a kid could make $20 a game. What can a kid buy with $20 today?

If I vote for someone, coalition, Labor or whoever, I expect them to remain in the party I voted for. Rocket

Keith Woods ... Loved the column on voluntary euthanasia.

I agree with Radish & Woodleigh - the price of diesel is a joke, yesterday Coles Express diesel price was 20c a litre dearer then Caltex Woolies. I have a Flybuys card and was recently offered extra bonus points for fuel and shopping, but when you get to the small print, the offer excludes LPG & Diesel. PP, Chevron

Re comment on diesel. We pay what we pay for two reasons. (1) Paul Keating tied our fuel to the Singapore Crude price. And (2) China uses more diesel in one day than we do in a year. Result: We pay what world demand dictates. ND.

What don’t vehicle drivers understand about what to do when people are on or about to enter a pedestrian crossing? You are supposed to stop, not speed up. Marine Parade Biggera Waters is a classic accident waiting to happen.

Crime increasing, softer penalties by magistrates, so many repeat offenders walking our streets, beyond time to be building new jails as present ones are overflowing.

Did anyone get an autograph or selfie with Prince Andrew? He snuck in & out quieter than a king brown.
