All in the family for Roos in ‘19

-

THE call of “bro” is likely to echo across the Roo Pen next year when Robina Australian Football Club fields a remarkable number of brothers.

Seniors playing-coach Mark Vigus will once again relish the chance to play alongside his younger brothers, twins Brad and Dean.

“Family has always been extremely important to me,” said Vigus, who owns F45 gyms with his brothers.

“I want to play with my brothers but most of all I want my parents and the rest of my family to feel comfortable and that is a big reason I am at Robina.”

Brothers Jamie, Nathan and Mitchell Tripp will also don the blue and white stripes in 2019, lining up for the Roos’ reserves.

The siblings will be watched keenly from the goal square by father Dannie, who volunteers as a goal umpire.

Other sets of brothers at the club include senior players Boeh and Jordan Davies, and Anthony and Michael Gugliotta.

In the colts, there’s coach Trevor Baars and player Jai, as well as players Noah and Zach Coote.

Club president Heath King, who has four young sons, agreed, said it was important that the club was a place for all ages and abilities.

“Robina has an open-door policy and always tries to help families enjoy their time at the Pen,” King said.

Robina will field two men’s teams, two women’s teams and a colts team next year.
