ALDER’S SUCCESS A DEVELOPING STORY
AN award-winning Gold Coast construction company has marked 15 years with plans to generate more of its own work through its development arm.
Alder Constructions was founded in 2003 by managing director Greg Alder, based at his Gold Coast home.
Three years later it outgrew the home operation and moved to an industrial unit in Biggera Waters before outlaying $4.5 million on a new headquarters at Siganto Dr, Helensvale, in 2014.
The company today employs 60 people and has delivered 200 construction projects in southeast Queensland, including the Seaway Jetty, the Gold Coast Turf Club, the Tweed River Art Gallery, Gold Coast Hockey Centre and part of the Gold Coast Desalination Plant Project.
The company has also worked on a number of projects for the education sector, such as The Pod at Coomera Anglican College, The Southport School Multi-Purpose Hall, and the Emmanuel College Auditorium.
General manager Dean Cheffers said the company chased challenging and technical projects “that others shy away from”.
“We have tackled diverse projects across a range of industries from industrial land subdivision through to education precincts and waterfront apartments,” he said.
Mr Alder said the future of the company lay in its construction and development branches working in tandem to create work for the whole operation.
“Alder Developments has now been operating in its own right for four years and generating a stream of work for both the civil and building arms of Alder Constructions,” he said.
Alder Developments is currently delivering 11ha of industrial land at Yatala known as Aspire Industrial Park. Work is also under way on Spanns Rd, a 2.36ha site zoned for mixeduse in Beenleigh.
