IT just goes to show you what garbage music kids listen to today if they have to take drugs that dealers make in their backyard to enjoy their crap music !!!!! You know more youths die in alcoholrelated car crashes yet no big outcry why??? Redrum

Campbell Newman has been accused of “going soft “on drugs. Maybe it’s “going smart”. It’s a changing world. Decriminalisation of certain drugs, eg. Marijuana, will save millions of taxpayers money in policing and jail costs. Those funds can be put to better use. We’re not doing that well with the system we have now are we? M, Robina

Will never understand the attitudes of Tomic & Kyrgios. The talent is there but lack of conviction in some games where they spit the dummy almost makes me ashamed they are Australian. Still it’s great to see so many youngsters coming through. Bagging Lleyton Hewitt is very low as he never gave up on a match & both could take a leaf from his book! PFT

Ken Johnston; you’re right modern Australia should not be blamed for that day but to say there was no harm done, history books tell different. Rosi S

Grampa Willie you’re so right. This government wont allow the police to deal with the criminals or young upcoming criminals. It is time to free them up and allow them to deal with the evil and use the prison system to punish them. Prisons are too soft and needs reviewing to make it unpleasant. Laza

I want to comment on the dreadful DUI ads on TV at the moment. They are supposedly for safety reasons, yet only the driver is wearing a seat belt! I’ve written to our government, asking that they remove this ad, but, of course, no reply. It’s a case of double standards, if you ask me. Stropp, Robina.

We keep putting up the cost of alcohol making it unaffordable to kids at school or university so they turn to affordable cheap drugs and end up dead. Question is who’s the winner? Basil, Mudgeeraba

Say no to crocodile eggs being taken in Qld. The Irwin family has great knowledge of this problem. Crocodile handbags! I thought we had moved forward. This is barbaric. Hopefully a petition will be started

Is it possible for Kochie and panel on to all stop talking at once so that when the cash cow comes on one can hear who and where they are calling. Moo

Those people being accepted at Australian citizenships ceremonies should be respectfully dressed as it is a solemn occasion not to be downgraded with beach wear. Doug

Have you seen the cost of second hand items at Lifeline and Salvation Army stores? I’m better off buying my stuff brand new. These secondhand stores get their stuff for free and the workers are mostly volunteers, so how do they justify their outrageously high prices? Ten dollars for a shirt with a hole in it? Karen

The man charged for stealing from life line obviously needs a bit more help and a life line, where’s humanity? Drop the charge, help him and move on. Darran M

I reckon the council would make upwards of a million a year booking bike riders with no helmets and impounding dumped Mo Bikes. Dedicate 2 staff to do the job. Easy money.

So the LNP here in Qld takes us, the voting public for a bunch of dopes? The hospital waiting times during their brief stint in govt, were way over the top yet they seem to forget that. Ole Cynical Bugger

Tax alcohol like cigarettes, really? Home brewing would go ballistic! Johnbrew

With drug use so prevalent it’s good to see the governments alcopops tax working so well .... JimmyBBQ

The letter saying that indigenous people were not victims of European settlement hits a new level of ignorance and redneckery - Curly Bells

OMG a man is out there who doesn’t drink or smoke. R U MARRIED ?????????

Does Tomic not realise he is very very not liked, Hewitt is a legend. Kev, Helensvale

I love it how people blame the banks for irresponsible lending when the muppets that want a loan are irresponsible and play dumb. Maybe a lesson needs to be learned. Good on the banks.

Lifeline takes a homeless man to the Southport Magistrates Court in an attempt to squeeze $10 out of him in restitution for nicking a T-shirt and jeans from their Southport store last November. What great Christmas spirit NOT! One could easily think from this heavy attitude that these people, despite their self trumpeting, have as much compassion and empathy as a block of ice! Neil

To non union supporter most of the work you do is for losers like me, and we can pay you because the union got us good pay. You’re welcome. Maybe you hate the unions because you have employees that you have to pay a decent wage..
