Coast about to scorch

HOT weather is about to hit the Gold Coast with Wednesday set to be a scorcher.

The weather bureau said there remains a slight chance of more showers on the Gold Coast today and tomorrow before the heat on Wednesday.

With the higher likelihood of showers tomorrow it will be a little cooler, but don’t expect much rain with only a few millimetres forecast.

Northeasterly winds will push hot air towards the Coast with Wednesday expected to reach a top of 34 degrees.

Griffith University student Marte Ellefsen and her friends Synnoeve Skjelle and Charlotte Fjeldkjon from Norway are planning on making the most of the surf to stay cool.

“I got a really bad sunburn this week so when the heat comes I’ll be more careful to remember sunscreen and drink lots of water,” she said.
