ESE groundswel­l around 3 to 4ft exposed open beaches, otherwise grading smaller inside the bays and along the points. WIND: Early light NW to NNW inshore 5 to 10 knots, tending NNE and freshening, possibly light and variable in the afternoon.

TOMORROW: Easing ESE groundswel­l ranges from 3 to 4ft on the sets along exposed open breaks with long lulls, dropping into the afternoon. Mixing with new S windswell at similar levels across northern NSW south facing breaks, otherwise wrapping at lower levels along the points and inside the bays. WIND: Early SSW to SW, shifting SSE and increasing to 15 to 25 knots during the arvo.

FRIDAY: New SSE windswell combines with underlying ESE tradewind swell. SSE swell up to 3 to 4ft across exposed northern NSW coasts, grading to 2 to 4ft along exposed southern Qld beaches and smaller along points and inside the bays with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light and variable tending SSE to SE 10 to 20 knots, then ESE in the arvo.

SATURDAY: Potential for rebuilding SE/ ESE tradewind swell. Speculativ­ely 4 to 5ft+ across northern NSW exposed breaks, wrapping at 3 to 4ft+ along exposed Qld beaches, and grading smaller along the points and inside the bays. WIND: Early light SSW inshore, tending SSE to SE and freshening to 15 to 25 knots.

SUNDAY: South-easterly, ESE tradewind swell up to a consistent 4 to 5ft+ along exposed northern NSW coasts, wrapping at 3 to 5ft into exposed Qld beaches and anywhere from 2 to 4ft+ inside the points and bays. Easing in the afternoon. WIND: Early Light SW to SSW inshore, tending SSE to SE 15 to 20 knots.
