Ella Sabljak
Wheelchair basketball
Ella, a guard, captained the Queensland Comets premiership team who won the 2018 Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League. She was selected in the Australian Gliders national women’s wheelchair basketball team that was ninth at the world championships in Germany.
Tom O’Neill-Thorne
Wheelchair basketball
Tom led the Queensland Spinning Bullets to the National Wheelchair Basketball League minor premiership and overall silver medal. He was selected in the Australian Rollers team that placed third at the world championships in Germany. Tom has just signed his first professional contract to play in the Spanish League in 2018-2019
Mitch Gleeson
Rugby league
The Runaway Bay product captained the Australian Physical Disability Rugby League team who won all eight of their matches in 2018. He represented South Sydney in the 2018 World Club Challenge, was top tryscorer of the nines event at the Commonwealth championships and was named in the 2018 Physical Disability World Team.
Jake Fehlberg
Lawn bowls
Jake won a gold medal in the vision impaired lawn bowls mixed pairs at the Commonwealth Games. The Burleigh Heads product shone at the national championships, with gold in the mixed pairs, silver in the singles and silver in the open pairs. He was the Australian Disability Bowler of the Year.
Curtis McGrath
Para-Canoe
Curtis won the world KL2 kayak division and VL3 Canoe at the Portugal world titles, and also won the same events at the World Cup, which means he has now won eight world titles.
Nic Beveridge
Para-Triathlon
Nic won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games ParaTriathlon and also took out an ITU race. He now has his eyes firmly set on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
