GOLD COAST WRAP WITH LADBROKES’ TOM HACKETT

-

WINNERS

Spirit Of Cherokee (Race 1) The market suggested that this was a two-horse race between Spirit Of Cherokee and Katy Boom and that was the case. Spirit Of Cherokee tracked Katy Boom into the contest the entire way and he proved too strong.

Kingly (Race 2)

Kingly was caught wide in the early stages of this contest and looked under pressure a long way from home, but he kept on to record a maiden race win. He appreciated the step-up to 1400 metres and it would not surprise to see him over a mile.

Bachelor’s Art (Race 6) They call him the King Of The Coast for a reason. Daniel Griffin produced an absolute peach of a ride on Bachelor’s Art and it was a very easy watch for punters that took the short odds. The lightly-raced six-year-old had no issues with the step-up in trip and he can continue to make his way through the grades.

On Show (Race 7)

On Show is one of the form horses in Queensland and she continued that with a scintillating win. Luke Dittman settled her in the second half of the field, but she always looked in control and stormed over the top of her rivals to make it four wins on the trot.

LOSERS

Foxy Bella (Race 3)

Foxy Bella was very-well backed with Ladbrokes, but she simply failed to fire a shot over the 900m. She was run off her feet in the early stages oand she was unable to offer anything in the straight. She has now missed the placings at single-figure odds on five occasions.

She’s Choosie (Race 5) She’s Choosie was one of the best-backed runners of the day with Ladbrokes and she had every possible chance to return to winning. She looked as though she had the race in control when she peeled out at the top of the straight, but was unable to run down a gallant San Sierra.

NEXT TIME

Toorak Comedy (Race 4) This was easily the best finish of the day and Toorak Comedy was a touch unlucky not to return to winning form. They did go hard early and that set-up the race for the swoopers, but there was still plenty to like about the way that she hit the line after doing plenty of work early.
