TO state problem gambling as a reason for not building a second casino is a nonsense.

People will gamble if they want to, no problem, and taking our green space is ignorant at best with over 2000 parks on the Gold Coast, a lot hardly used.

The benefits such as employment building and running great bars and restaurants high quality entertainment providing a safe place with security to have a great day or night out.

Projects like a second casino should not be stopped because of a few small minded people, who have the choice of going or not going and have no right to force their views on others.

ROD WATSON SURFERS PARADISE

IF anything, Senator Fraser Anning’s comments are as deadly as the bullets fired in Christchurch.

It is obviously too much to expect he might just once shut his crass and insensitive gob, when most of us are completely stunned at this time.

ON TV, there are frequent requests for $10 a month to feed starving children in India and Africa.

In India According to Google, there are 406 billionaires, worth a total of $316 billion dollars, and in Africa, there are 20 billionaires, worth a total of $61 billion dollars.

But I guess, like MOST extremely wealthy folk, it looks better on their bank statement, than in a starving child.

Perhaps another idea would be for them to club together and send a couple of container ships, with birth control items to each continent with instructions on their use, because their populations just keep on increasing. Just a thought.

Dear Prime Minister Morrison, I have some questions about your press conference of Friday, March 15.

The New Zealand mosque attacker described himself as an “eco-fascist”, and said “conservatism is dead, thank God.”

Yet you described him as “rightwing”. Why was that? If it’s because he’s racist, are you suggesting racism is found on the right, but not on the left? Are the Liberals more racist than Labor?

Right-wingers prefer individualism, we reject the hive-mind of identity politics, and we interact with others on the basis of assessed merit alone.

History tells us that racism is born of collectivism, endemic to the left. Their current groupthink includes a victimhood totem-pole based on perceived racial disadvantage. What’s that, then?

It’s no wonder you can’t get traction with conservatives, Mr Morrison; you don’t know your left from your right.

WITHOUT doubt (or hesitation) New Zealand’s highest civilian award for valour should be bestowed upon the incredibly brave – unarmed - young Muslim man sacrificing his own life when rushing at the unspeakably heinous – so very, heinous heavily armed - Australian white-supremacist terrorist Brenton Tarrant; gunning down 100 people (murdering, 50 of them; including tiny tots, women and the elderly) in a New Zealand mosque!

And in contrast: Australian Senator Fraser Anning should be widely condemned, not only for the insensitivity; but the timing of, and circumstances (a white-supremist meeting) of his delivery of his comments re the NZ massacre.

Finally, the young fool filming his own, attack on Anning fully deserved a good smack in the ear (however, not near strangulation); not only for the young fool’s actions; but, for the stupidity of “victimising” Anning … thus, increasing Anning’s hero-worship in the eyes of potentially, violence-prone extremist elements!

I wonder how many of the children protesting for climate change have actually read any of the flawed IPCC reports. The answer to that is most likely a round figure.

As one of those adults who have lived through the mess we have created during my 70-plus years I applaud the young for taking it upon themselves to make it known we are leaving one hell of a mess for them.

And if they have had to rally on mass during school hours then so be it. And if they do it more frequently then so be it.

Those adults who have taken such a narrow view of the young should time to look at the mess they have inherited instead of canning them.
