TURBO’S LIST INSPIRES JOY

-

TURBO the terminally ill staffy has captured hearts across the Gold Coast with generous locals offering to help the old pup tick things off his bucket list.

Owner Natasha Bull started Turbo’s Bucket List after discovering her 10-year-old “soulmate” had bone cancer and other injuries.

So far, Turbo has been given a life jacket to go swimming and enjoy a boat ride; he had a pamper day at Q Superstore Petbarn where he picked his own special toy, had a photoshoot, and ate ice cream, burgers and lots and lots of bacon.

Hearing about Turbo’s plight, Meg McArthur, the Senior Sergeant Officer in Charge at Coolangatta Police Station, offered to take the pooch for a spin in a police car and a fire truck to ensure he could cross more things off his list.

“The response has been amazing,” Ms Bull said. “A lot of people want to follow how he is going. I think he’s just loving all the attention he gets as everyone wants to give him pats and cuddles and treats.

“His favourite thing has been picking his own toy and the police and fire truck rides.

“My feelings have been all over the place. I’ve cried knowing how he’s going but there’s days where I’m happy as he is doing better.

“It is amazing what people are willing to do and help to make his time a good one and I would like to thank each person who has helped in any way.”

Ms Bull said a recent vet check-up revealed Turbo had about three weeks left to live as he battles with a mast cell tumour.

Still left on Turbo’s list is to ride in the sidecar of a motorbike, go to the drive-in, play in a field of flowers, meet fish at a pond, have a beer with dad at the pub and have a picnic at the park.
