HOOPS DREAMS

OUR STARTING FIVE

-

1. SPENCER PARKER ROLLERS

Parker has been a force so far this season and will have a huge say in the Rollers’ 2019 fate. Is averaging a team-high 25.25 points (the next highest is 14.75) and makes more shots than he misses. The American import earnt player of the game honours in the Round 1 win against the Spartans with 31 points, six rebounds and two assists.

2. ANTHONY PETRIE ROLLERS

Despite being in the twilight of his glistening career, it’s hard to put together any starting five without Petrie. The power forward has already made a big impact at the Rollers and in the Gold Coast basketball community. He’s played more minutes than anyone else on the Rollers roster, clocking up 130 in the first four games as he looks to provide a level head and on-court source of wisdom. Leads the team in average rebounds with eight.

3. ROBERT LINTON SEAHAWKS

After finishing second last in 2018 the Seahawks were crying out for talent and experience and they have found both in Linton. He was quickly named captain and will provide a lot of guidance and maturity to a young Seahawks roster. Has played more than 30 minutes in every game so far and leads the Seahawks scoring with an average of 18.67.

4. RHYS MARTIN ROLLERS

The former NBL Illawarra Hawk continues to show his class and experience. He’s another who coach Mick Conlon has given heavy minutes to early in the season to help guide the Rollers on court. Is averaging the second most points with 14.75

5. QUINTON CAMPBELL SEAHAWKS

The excitement machine is back and ready for another QBL season. After averaging a touch over 16 points and nearly eight rebounds last season, Campbell is back and ready to inflict more opposition headaches. He was at his dominant best in Round 1 with 21 points, including four threes, and 12 rebounds.

Unlucky to miss:

Cam Goldfinch, Tom Howard (Seahawks), TJ Diop (Rollers)
