Coast basketball named the best in the state
GOLD Coast Basketball has had the best 60th birthday present they could ask for after they were awarded Basketball Queensland’s 2018 association of the year on Saturday night.
After just recently overtaking Brisbane to become the state’s biggest basketball asDESPITE sociation, the Gold Coast can also now call themselves Queensland’s best after taking out the award ahead of Townsville Basketball and the North Side wizards.
“The association is as only as good as its members so we’re extremely lucky to have members who represent the best parts of our game; teamwork, commitment, fun and sportsmanship,” said Gold Coast basketball manager Joel McInnes. “Our players, coaches, referees and volunteers and even our spectators demonstrate every day the value of the sport and recreation in the community.”

Next up is a Friday night QBL Coast clash against the North Gold Coast Seahawks. Last Friday night the Seahawks men went down 85-99 to the Logan Thunder, while the women also lost 62-82. Competition commences 24/05/2019 at 00:01am (AEST) and concludes 16/06/2019 at 11:59pm (AEST). Winners will be drawn on 17/06/2019 at 3:00pm (AEST). Total prize pool is valued at $5,424 (Inc. GST).
