SSE swell gradually rebuilds. Ranging from 4 to 6ft across northern NSW southfacin­g coasts, building to 5 to 8ft in the afternoon, possibly bigger later. Wrapping at 2 to 4ft exposed Qld beaches and grading to 1 to 3ft along the points and inside the bays with size depending on exposure, picking up in the afternoon. WIND: SW to SSW 10 to 15 knots inshore, tending SSE to SE 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon.

TOMORROW:

Long period SSE groundswel­l peaks early. Sets ranging from 6 to 8ft across south-facing northern NSW coasts, wrapping at anywhere from 4 to 6ft along open beaches with size depending on exposure. Wrapping at 3 to 5ft exposed Qld beaches and grading to 2 to 3ft+ along the open beaches and points with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early SW to SSW 10 to 15 knots inshore, tending South to SE in the afternoon.

SUNDAY:

SSE groundswel­l slowly eases. Sets around 3 to 5ft across northern NSW southfacin­g coasts, smaller elsewhere. Wrapping at 2 to 3ft+ exposed southern Qld beaches and grading to 1 to 3ft along the open beaches and points with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early SW to SSW 10 to 15 knots, tending lighter SSE to SE in the afternoon.

MONDAY:

Leftover SSE swell steadily fades. Slower sets to 2 to 3ft+ across northern NSW south-facing beaches, fading in the afternoon. Wrapping at 1 to 2ft+ along exposed Qld coasts and grading to tiny levels along the points and inside the bays. WIND: Early SW tending SSW 5 to 15 knots, turning light ESE to ENE in the afternoon.

TUESDAY:

Residual SSE swell up to a slower 1 to 2ft across northern NSW south-facing beaches, fading in the afternoon. Up to 0.5 to 1ft along exposed southern Qld beaches and virtually flat elsewhere.
