Man busted with fake cash, drugs in raid
DETECTIVES have arrested a Burleigh Heads man allegedly found with $10,000 in counterfeit cash and $10,000 worth of the drug ice.
The 44-year-old man was also busted with MDMA (ecstasy) tablets, steroids and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
It’s alleged detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) found the items while carrying out a raid on a Clinton Ave home on Thursday morning.
“As a result, it will be alleged methylamphetamines (ice) valued at more than $10,000, MDMA tablets, steroids, approximately $10,000 in counterfeit Australian currency and other drug paraphernalia was located,” police said in a statement.
The man was charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing counterfeit currency, receiving tainted property, possessing drug utensils and contravening a direction.
Gold Coast CIB Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said the arrest was a “great result for the community”.
