I live in Surfers in a small high rise – 8 stories built in 1983. I have two young girls as neighbours who are chain smokers. They have been told they can smoke on the balcony but they don’t seem to understand where the balcony is as they very often spend all day inside smoking and somehow the smoke comes thru the walls into my unit and as I am allergic to cigarette smoke I am suffering badly. Also the foyer stinks every morning even though they have been told by manager not to spray foyer as it is common area they continue to spray every morning. Council have been informed but because of the age of the building not much they can do. Anyone any ideas? GJ Surfers

I regularly walk across Chevron bridge and the pigeons are a health hazard. You have to hold your breath else you are breathing in bird feathers and dust. When is council going to fine the pigeon lady as she is causing a health hazard. Redneck

If the owners of building contracts hired properly trained workmen, like our older tradies, they wouldn’t have all these buildings cracking. Stop bringing in overseas untrained men, giving poor pay, packing gangs of them into rented house n taking half their pay for rent. Wouldn’t have this problem. They don’t care how they get the building up as long as it’s cheaper n quicker. Don’t do deep enough foundations or strong enough pylons. And regular inspections by professionals. B
