THE WINNER IS ... GC

THE curling irons are warming, the bottle openers at the ready and the spanx being stretched – yes, it is less than seven days until TV’s night of nights descends on the Gold Coast.

The Glitter Strip is fast becoming synonymous with the country’s biggest glamour events.

Horse racing royalty and some actual royals along with the odd sheikh and deeppocketed heavyhitters of overseas horse racing head to the Gold Coast every January for the country’s richest horse sales – the Magic Millions.

With that they bring a touch of class with the polo on The Spit and some amazing fashions at the race day.

Earlier this year the Gold Coast played the perfect backdrop to the Eurovision Australia Decides event with the beaches the perfect complement to the glitter and pomp of the song contest.

This weekend Queensland’s Miss World finalists strutted their stuff in Surfers Paradise as they vied to reach the national competition.

All these events are boosting to the Gold Coast’s growing reputation as the place to be to add a touch of glitter into your life.

With the Logies this Sunday night, the country’s biggest TV stars will become the city’s best ambassadors, posting carefully curated snaps of their time in the sun and away from the Melbourne chill. It’s the kind of advertising money cannot buy.

They all had a good time last year with the refreshing relocation of the night from Melbourne as the Gold Coast did its bit to make them feel welcome. Let’s turn on the Gold Coast charm for them all again.
