GOLD COAST WRAP WITH LADBROKES’ MARK MAZZAGLIA

-

WINNERS

Bold Warrior (Race 6)

An all-the-way win by the $3 favourite gave the punters an easy ride in the second leg of the Gold Coast Quaddie. Untroubled in front although runner-up Smart Attack did make a late bid to run down the favourite. Continued the late run for the favourites after $3.30 favourite Inkblot took out the first leg of the Quaddie in the previous race.

Seat Of Power (Race 7)

Seat Of Power continued the late surge for the favourites with a comfortable win in the Class 1 Handicap over 1400m. Punters weren’t frightened to take the odds on and Glen Colless produced a faultless ride on the $1.95 favourite to record a twoand-a-quarter lengths win over the runner up Golden Lily. The Michael Costa-trained four year old is now undefeated from his two races starts.

Musical Genius (Race 8) Musical Genius rounded off the day with another win for the favourite backers with a twoand-a-half length win in the final leg of the Quaddie in the 1200m BenchMark 75 Handicap. Anthony Allen took Musical Genius straight to the front and the $2 favourite was never headed after that. LOSERS

Honey Baby (Race 1) Favourite backers were off to a disastrous start when the $1.95 odds-on pop Honey Baby failed to salute. After beginning well, Honey Bay was given every chance by Alannah Fancourt but finished fifth.

Mosht Up (Race3)

Well supported to go out as the $2.20 favourite but failed to fill the placings and wound up fourth. Mosht Up sat at the leader’s rump for most of the race but after making a shortlived challenge halfway down the straight, only plodded to the line.

Sizzling Ace (Race 4)

Sizzling Ace was the fourth favourite from the first four races who failed to salute and could only beat one runner home to finish tenth in the QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate (1200m). Always near the tail and never threatened in the run home.

NEXT TIME

Zephyr Cruiser (Race 4)

It won’t be long before Zephyr Cruiser breaks through for his Maiden win after producing a flashing finish to go down by a narrow margin to outsider Penasquito. Held up for a run approaching the home turn but once jockey Jason Taylor found some clear space, the three year old really motored to the line.
