SOME very interesting places in Britain are not open to the general public.

Many private homes, farms and clubs are only accessible by prior appointment.

Toursgallery has created a 22-day tour through England, Scotland and Wales that includes special visits that are not included on any other tour.

Vintage cars, antique machinery, tractors, trucks and steam trains are all featured on this small group tour in August.

Meet private collectors, restorers and museum curators who are keeping history alive.

“Many of the inventions that make our life so easy today were born out of the Industrial Revolution,” Ken Osetroff, director of Toursgallery, said.

“How we now travel, farm and live are all related to places that guests will see on this tour.” Trains, planes and automobiles will feature along with canals, boats, industrial and farming equipment.

A highlight of the tour will be two full days at The Great Dorset Steam Fair, the world’s biggest country fair and vintage machinery rally.

Oxford, York, Ffestiniog Railway, Iron Bridge Gorge and Whitby, from where Captain Cook set sail for Australia, will all be part of this tour.

Castles and museums will be visited as well as quaint old stone villages, tranquil lakes, romantic rural landscapes and famous must-see sights.

This 22-day escorted tour starts August 5 and is priced at $13,880 per person land only.
