- GOLD COAST ROLLERS NORTH GOLD COAST

1. Women: Round 10 v Ipswich Force: 83-82 win

Coming off a northern double header, the third (Ipswich) against seventh (Rollers) clash was season defining for the visitors.

The Rollers trailed by five points at three quarter time before storming home in the last to land a memorable win.

The Coast side extended their lead to four points with eight seconds to go thanks to a Susannah Walmsley freethrow conversion.

An opposition three-pointer with five seconds to go reduced the margin to one point and rattled some nerves late but the Rollers held on for their eighth win of the year.

2. Women: Round 6 v North Gold Coast Seahawks: 71-62 win

Coming off nearly three weeks’ break, the Rollers overcame an 11-point halftime deficit to claim just their second win for the year in front of a packed Carrara Indoor Stadium.

A faultless third quarter saw the Rollers pile on 24 points while restricting the Seahawks to only nine.

The Rollers intent and defence in the second half was second to none as they overpowered their little sisters in style.

3. Men: Round 7 v Logan Thunder: 105–96 win in overtime

A Sean Carroll long-range three-pointer in the dying seconds meant both teams finished on 91 but the Rollers rallied in overtime to restrict Logan to five points while piling on 14 of their own to kill the game.

It was particularly impressive considering the Rollers got back to the Gold Coast in the early hours of the morning of the game following a Saturday night showdown in Toowoomba.

1. Men: Round 1 v Cairns Marlins: 84-73 win

With the Marlins currently sixth on the ladder and claiming four more wins than the Seahawks, hindsight suggests that the Round 1 win was huge for the club.

Quinton Campbell dominated with 21 points and 12 rebounds while Rob Linton impacted in his first game as captain, contributing 13 points.

2. Women: Round 7 v Mackay Meteorettes: 97-83 win

The Seahawks’ win against top four contenders Mackay up north was huge for the fledging QBL franchise.

Mackay unsurprisingly went into the game favourites on their home deck but the Lady Hawks had other plans and dismantled the Meteorettes to emerge 14-point winners. Young gun Katie Deeble had one of her best games for the season so far while Lauren Jansen and Emily Allen also performed strongly but all players contributed to the win.

3. Men: Round 8 v Sunshine Coast Phoenix: 71-65 win

Away from home, the Seahawks put in one of their best performances of the year to claim their third win of the season.

With the Phoenix then sitting sixth on the ladder, the third-last Seahawks rallied in front of the away crowd to claim a vital win which increased their chances of sneaking into finals.

Four players reached double digits on the scoring sheet, with Cameron Goldfinch top scoring with 20 points.
