WINNERS
Stampe (Race 1)
It was a strong start to the day for punters as Stampe claimed a classy win in the opening race of the day. Sean Cormack rode Stampe with plenty of confidence and he sat outside Magic Trick in the early stages before he proved too good for his rival late.
American Love (Race 3) After 22 starts, American Love finally recorded a win. She took a while to wind-up and Scott Galloway had her up and running a long way from home, but she kept on finding and her final 100m was excellent. LOSERS
Prince Duporth (Race 2) Prince Duporth was the only horse that punters wanted in race 2. He started $1.45 with Ladbrokes but produced a very flat effort. He had to do a fair amount of work to find the front and that may have hurt him late, as he had nothing left in the final 100m.
Liliero (Race 3)
There was plenty of money for Liliero with Ladbrokes, but she failed to offer a shot. Luke Dittman settled her in a nice position, but she looked under pressure a long way from home.
Secret Spirit (Race 5) Secret Spirit was locked in an early speed battle with Von Richter and that definitely took its toll in the last 100m.
The Spirit Of Boom gelding was found to be suffering from the thumps after the race. NEXT TIME
Shining Blue (Race 6)
It took a tough effort from dominant favourite Jackpot Jay to deny Shining Blue a second race win. Adin Thompson gave him a lovely run in transit and he looked set to knock off the favourite, but just died on his run in the shadows of the post. He won’t be $31 next time.
Zoulou Dancer (Race 7)
The Ladbrokes market suggested that this would be a battle between Dream Big and Zoulou Dancer and that proved to be the case. Zoulou Dancer stormed home in the final stages, but just couldn’t run down Dream Big. BIG BETS
