Our prudent PM might do well with a nuclear option

-

WHERE are we heading as a nation? One gets very concerned and angry when a respected social media advocate who usually has a balanced view of most social issues decides to insult our PM with leftist innuendo.

This person appears to be oblivious to the coal disinformation promulgated by the worldwide climate change ideologies that manipulate reality and create disunity. Like the Y2K bug of the late 1990s, the propaganda overtakes logic and absorbs reality negatively…

Yes, there is a bit of warming going on, but it could be nature’s cyclical pattern combined with our planet’s population explosion needing more resources, or perhaps it has something to do with coal, since a culprit needs to be found. Or maybe it is due to solar flare activity.

But let’s be frank: it is “the economy stupid” that has priority now and in the near future. If renewable energy is the cheaper and reliable option (the jury is still out), it is obvious that it can only be realised over a 30-year period of implementation and the economic cost is still to be determined – hence the softly softly approach by a prudent government!

Meanwhile the reliance on coal has to continue until the renewable energy power grids are up to speed with coal powered generators. The decision is in abeyance until a rational debate is fulfilled, if that is possible. However this social commentator has exemplified the UK and Europe as leaders in the renewable stakes but shows some ignorance on the subject or omits the fact that a large percentage of their renewables is nuclear energy and a mix of coal fired generators. Therefore, moving forward, the only short term solution that many experts agree on is to build our own nuclear power stations. Today’s nuclear power station options are much safer and smaller … and can be in place within 10 years, according to those in the know. Our cheap energy salvation rests with nuclear power.

Nevertheless, most of us are convinced that we are still the lucky country and we have a PM who is an honest person and of high integrity who has learnt from the events of the last few months and has now reset his priorities. One surmises that we will always favour sound economic principles, which the Australian populous count on and expect from their leader – the Great Reckoning is the truth! The dinosaurs survived for some 200 million years. We have been around for some three million years, but as a specimen with some intelligence probably over the last 5000 to 8000 years. And “the answer my friend is blowing in the wind”. My thanks to Bob Dylan…
