A NEW multi-million-dollar water park will be unveiled tomorrow on the Gold Coast boasting more than 300m of waterslides. Channel 7 presenter Liz Cantor and son Kit, 3, were among the first to test Helensvale Big4 Holiday Park’s latest attraction.

A GOLD Coast holiday park has unveiled a multi-milliondollar water haven, featuring water slides with a combined length of more than 300m.

Helensvale’s Big4 Holiday Park will officially open its water park to guests tomorrow.

Channel 7 presenter Liz Cantor and son Kit, 3, were among the first to test the waters yesterday.

“I love it – it’s so much fun,” Ms Cantor said.

“Anything on the Gold Coast that encourages locals and tourists to holiday at home with a bit of laughter and excitement is awesome.

“I love that you can bring a three-year-old along. Today we started on the beginner slides, and within no time at all, he’s wanting to go up and up and get braver and braver. It’s really good as a parent to see that confidence in the water.”

Helensvale Big4 Gold Coast Holiday Park owner Theo Whitmont says the new addition takes the accommodation’s entertainment offerings to the next level.

“We wanted to build it because our guests want to have a holiday that goes from sun up to sun down,” Mr Whitmont said.

“The competition is high, there are a lot of water parks out there. We wanted to be able to offer the biggest and the brightest and the best for our customers.

“When mum and dad come home and the kids are still going, this is going to be another opportunity for the kids to play until later.”

The water park is fed by two underground swimming pools and has had engineers from as far as Turkey help to bring it to fruition.

“It’s been in planning for about two years and the build itself took about six months. It’s a huge investment.

“Underground there’s two domestic swimming pools, which hold 90,000 litres of water.

“It’s very exciting, it’s one of those rare opportunities in your life to impact people for many years.”

The park features six tube and open slides, a giant tipping bucket and multiple water spouts and fountains, for exclusive use of guests of the park.
