GOLD COAST WRAP WITH LADBROKES’ TOM HACKETT
WINNERS
Reagan’s Mistake (Race 3) Reagan’s Mistake was well backed and it was an easy watch for punters who took the short odds. Rikki Palmer took the Helmet gelding straight to the front and he never looked like getting beaten.
Sunday Sassy (Race 7) Sunday Sassy was the bestbacked runner of the day with Ladbrokes and she delivered for punters in impressive fashion. It took her a while to wear down her rivals, but she always looked like the winner and she still has the upside to improve on that performance.
Sea Raider (Race 8)
Sea Raider rounded out a strong day for punters at the Gold Coast with a comfortable win in the final race of the day. Glen Colless gave him a lovely run and the Reset gelding responded when he was asked for an extra effort.
LOSERS
Richest (Race 4)
It was a horror watch for punters who backed Richest. He was caught wide early and had a terrible run in transit. The Jet Spur gelding simply had nothing left in the tank when he was asked for an extra effort and it might be a while before he starts as a short-priced favourite again.
NEXT TIME
Holly Run (Race 2)
Holly Run is yet to produce a poor performance and a maiden race win is surely coming. Holly Run was in front a stride after the post and was very unlucky not to get the job done.
Defence Missile (Race 5) Freddie Fox Trot is a very talented galloper and Defence Missile gave him a genuine scare in the run. It has been a while since the Gold Coast Guineas placegetter produced a strong effort and it was good to see him return to a semblance of his best form. A return to the winner’s stall is just around the corner.
Lyrical Prince (Race 8)
There was plenty to like about the performance of Lyrical Prince. He had to do a bit of work to find the lead early and he was still able to tough it out to the line. It took a good horse to run him down.
