WINNERS
■ Lot’s Wife (Race 3)
The Toby and Trent Edmonds-trained Lot’s Wife put punters in the black with a dominant win in the Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap. Anthony Allen had the $2.35 favourite in the firing line from the start and the filly careered away in the straight to be unchallenged at the line.
■ Powering (Race 4)
Powering gave the Toby and Trent Edmonds stable a winning double and kept the punters who backed the $2.35 favourite happy as well. Powering was given a lovely run by Jag Guthmann-Chester just off the pace and the three-year-old gelding stretched out nicely in the run to the line for a onelength win.
■ Holly Run (Race 7)
Holly Run gave the favourite backers some relief late in the day with a comfortable win in the
BenchMark 65 Handicap. Jag Guthmann-Chester gave Holly Run a clean run and the threeyear-old had a one-length win.
LOSERS
■ Calzini (Race 2)
Calzini was the $2.90 favourite but was always on the back hoof coming out of the outside gate in the eight-horse field. Daniel Griffin was then caught wide on Calzini, who tried hard in the straight but ended up in fourth.
■ Dreamtime Magic (Race 5) Luke Dittman gave the $2.70 favourite Dreamtime Magic every chance and even though the filly tried hard in the straight, the best she could do was to find third spot.
■ Replication (Race 6) Replication settled in fourth spot for Luke Dittman and the $2.15 favourite stayed in that position.
NEXT TIME
■ Isaready (Race 1)
First starter Isaready ($4.20) put in a phenomenal performance in winning the 900m 3yo Maiden and there are many more wins in store. The Better Than Ready three-year-old was severely checked shortly after the start and pushed back to a clear last but stormed home in the straight to collect the win.
