BEST IN THE BUSINESS

- ELIZA REILLY

BEING the best in Queensland is no new feat for Coomera Anglican College.

The Gold Coast sporting nursery has been named the Netball Queensland School of the Year for 2019, the second time in three years it has achieved the honour.

The college boasts a full netball pathway for boys and girls and an elite academy.

Coomera Anglican College netball coach Anna Young said it was an honour to be recognised as Queensland’s best netball program.

“To be awarded this for the second time in three years is an amazing achievement for all involved in our programs and a wonderful reward for the evolving innovations that are being implemented by netball staff and our netball volunteers,” she said.

“At Coomera Anglican College we are extremely proud that we can provide a range of netball opportunities for everyone within our college community, as well as the wider community.

“The goal is to offer experiences for all levels of players, boys and girls, and experiences for those interested in coaching, managing and umpiring.

“It’s also great to see past students, current students, extended family members and friends of our students all involved in programs with many willing to volunteer and give back to netball at the college.”

The college was also recognised for supporting the education and development of coaches and umpires. It offered financial support to more than 30 officials for accreditation and training purposes in 2019.
