RACE 6 — CLASS 6 HCP (1400m)

Fomo has been placed at his past two starts with a second in a 1300m Toowoomba Handicap followed by a third in a 1200m Gold Coast BenchMark 92 Handicap a fortnight ago. He is well placed stepping back up to the 1400m. Don’t Leave Me Out has finished third at his past two starts at the Gold Coast over 1100m and 1200m and is being tested again at 1400m. Marmaris was back in the winner’s stall at Ipswich last start with a nose win in a 1350m BenchMark 75 Handicap and has Michael Cahill sticking with him. Manias is on the improve with three runs under his belt.

RACE 7 — 3YO HCP (1400m)

Mishani Blossom is the winner of two of her past four starts at Doomben and Toowoomba. She ran a nice race at the Gold Coast last start when third in a 1400m 3YO Handicap three weeks ago and looks one of the main chances.

Astralis is stepping up in class after an impressive seven lengths win in a 1315m Coffs Harbour Maiden and should make her presence felt. Spirit

Esprit is a last-start winner in a 1400m BenchMark 65 Handicap at the Sunshine Coast but is climbing up in the weights. Firebox broke through for his Maiden win in fine style over 1200m at Ipswich.

RACE 8 — OPEN HCP (1300m)

Freddie Fox Trot and Grey Missile finished second and third, with only half a length between them, behind Bandipur in a 1200m Open Handicap at the Gold Coast on April 3. Freddie

Fox Trot has had another run since for a hard-fought nose win in a 1200m BenchMark 92 Handicap at the Gold Coast a fortnight ago and has strong claims again. Grey Missile is consistent and will be in for the fight.

In His Stride was back in the winner’s stall three weeks ago with a comefrom-behind victory in a 1400m Gold Coast Handicap. Firsthand can improve on recent form.

RACE 9 — BENCHMARK 72 (1200m)

Austria is having her first start for Bevan Laming after being previously trained by Chris Waller in Sydney.

Austria has been runner-up at five of her past seven starts and is coming off a second in a 1550m BenchMark 70 on the Kensington track at Randwick. She looks well placed. Powerful Saga has the blinkers back on after a seventh in a similar race three weeks ago and benefits from Adin Thompson’s 2kg claim. Ramtastic showed improvemen­t last start when second in a 1200m Doomben BenchMark 75.

Potro Duro is a last-start Gold Coast winner over this course distance.
