ONLINE HUB EYES MAJOR EXPANSION

- HAYDEN JOHNSON

A QUEENSLAND company that provides online training has raised a total of more than $US80 million to expand overseas as usage of its products has tripled amid a new era of remote working.

GO1, an online learning hub run out of offices in Logan that allows companies to upscale their workforce with on-demand training, will use the money to increase its US market share and expand its content network in response to demand for the platform while people work from home during COVID-19.

GO1 chief executive Andrew Barnes said the company’s growth had been “unprecedented” in the past few months.

“It is gratifying to fill an important void right now as workers embrace online solutions,” he said. “We are inspired about the future that we are building as we expand our platform with new mediums that reach millions of people every day with the content they need.”

GO1 has doubled the number of organisations using the platform in Australia over the past year.

Mr Barnes said 10 new marketing staff would be hired in the next few months as the company continues its rapid growth. GO1 has raised more than $US80 million in funding from investors including M12 – Microsoft’s venture fund – SEEK, Madrona Venture Group, Salesforce Ventures, Shark Tank investor Steve Baxter and Oxford University.

Salesforce Ventures boss Rob Keith said the partnership with GO1 came amid an ongoing digital disruption in the workforce.

“While the majority of corporate learning is done in person today, we believe the new digital imperative will see an acceleration in the shift to online learning tools,” he said.

The latest funding injection comes on the heels of an integration with Microsoft Teams, which enables organisations using Teams to learn within their workplace ecosystem. Individuals can now find, consume, share and discuss learning resources from GO1’s extensive library of online learning resources.
