LOG ON TO FIND OUT WHO HAS NETTED TOP HONOURS
AFTER four months of celebrating their inspirational stories, the Harvey Norman Gold Coast Women of the Year will be revealed tomorrow at goldcoastbulletin.com.au.
Winners across eight categories – Angels Among Us, Champions of Education, Entrepreneurs, Champions of Sport, Mentors, The Entertainers, Wellness Warriors and Young Women – will be announced hourly from 8am. The People’s Choice will be named at 4pm, before the Woman of the Year at 5pm, chosen by a judging panel made up of Bulletin editor Rachel Hancock, Harvey Norman CEO Katie Page, Hot Tomato radio presenter Emily Jade O’Keeffe, Southern Cross University lecturer Robin Stonecash and The Star COO Jessica Mellor.
“The calibre of women nominated was outstanding and I am sure all judges found it just as difficult to choose the winners,” Ms Hancock said.
“With COVID-19 restrictions, we decided to take the announcement of each category on to our digital platform, but we look forward to celebrating with the winners as soon as we can.”
Angels Among Us finalist Kathrine Peereboom has been blown away by the outpouring of community support following her nomination.
As founder and CEO of charity Spectrum Support, the Molendinar mother of three non-verbal autistic boys with severe comorbidities fights for the safety, health, education and inclusion of autistic Australians.
“I was absolutely humbled,” she said. “We’ve been working so hard for the past few years to try and make a difference in the autism community and train law enforcement.”
Her story and those of the other finalists will be celebrated in a special gloss magazine in Saturday’s Bulletin.
