Bad burns for worker
PARAMEDICS took a man to hospital with serious burns after fuel ignited at a Gold Coast workplace on Monday afternoon.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were called to Hopper Avenue at Ormeau at 3.45pm to treat the man, of an undisclosed age, who suffered burns to an arm and his abdomen in the incident.
The man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, a QAS spokeswoman said.
