Bad burns for worker

PARAMEDICS took a man to hospital with serious burns after fuel ignited at a Gold Coast workplace on Monday afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were called to Hopper Avenue at Ormeau at 3.45pm to treat the man, of an undisclose­d age, who suffered burns to an arm and his abdomen in the incident.

The man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, a QAS spokeswoma­n said.
