OMG can’t believe the stupidity of some Australian people. Some Aussies need to lose the “She’ll be right mate” attitude. “NO MATE, it’s not far from it.” Come on Queensland premier, shut the border. It needs to close, we don’t need a second wave in Queensland. We have worked too hard up to now.

Yes salty, that is correct, we should have a cull of sharks. If you don’t go in the ocean you’re not entitled to an opinion! There are too many sharks – fact. P

Dear Salty, why should we cull these sharks for what they do naturally in their own environment? If it was up to people like yourself there wouldn’t be any animals left on this planet. Gary, Runaway Bay

As an AFL fan I am worried about how some weaker teams play defensive footy and try to fluke a win on a counter attack. The Sydney Swans against Richmond Tigers was a perfect example of how not to play footy. It was worst than watching soccer where weak teams park the bus and hope for the best. The AFL needs to fix this rubbish before the NRL runs over the top of them once they get rid of there scrums next year.

Good on ya Peter V’landys, if you can get rid of the pointless and time-wasting scrum from the game. If you can also eliminate a couple more minor infringements from being penalised, ie small handling errors etc (which the Bunker insist on replaying over and over and over again) the game will truly have developed into a fast, free-flowing spectaclular sport that can be taken to the world. Cheers, Dehog

The Prime Minister has been on TV saying that it is important for people to maintain social distancing even when visiting family members. He said no hugs or close contact. So what do we see on last Friday’s news? People arriving from interstate hugging and kissing relatives they had not seen for a few months! Can someone please tell me why it is that so many people don’t seem to get this! Joan

Most sensible and common sense solution to ease congestions around Tweed and Coolangatta would be to relocate NSW/Qld border to Chinderah bridge river crossing. So obvious! Let QLd have part of NSW. Dave Davis

Peter Beattie is going to ‘save’ our state ... just like he ‘saved’ the NRL and the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.

Gee I nearly choked on my Wheaties when I was reading

Bulletin (13/7). Developer is organising community opposition to a development next door to his place . I think the whole of Palm Beach will watch with interest as well as other organisations. 4221

Climate letters to the paper will not change the climate.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion on any topic, but when you have some people trying to tell you in the media that their opinion is fact, without any concrete overwhelming evidence, then that is a real worry. I am reminded about one of our Liberal Senators, Jim Molan, when asked on national television about what evidence he had to support his outspoken views on denying the existence of climate change, his reply was “I’m not relying on any evidence to form my views!” Now that is a real worry! Same applies to the idiots who claim COVID-19 is “a little flu”. Martin

Shame. After a huge election win Britain’s leader Boris is governing like a Doris. Go figure. He’s starting to look like their sad version of our turncoat Turnbull.

I’m with you Harry B, I don’t even bother reading the letters or texts about climate change anymore. As you said, enough already. RM Southport

Queensland needs to shut the border as soon as possible so we don’t get a second wave here as Vic, and now NSW, has infections on the rise.

Real sad to read of Elvis Presley’s grandson ... prayers and thoughts to the entire Presley family. RIP. Doug

Good one Tom. But I think NSW will be open to moving the border a few kilometres north to achieve the same result!

Is it just me or do other “normal people” find the salaries paid to NRL players & other sportspeople obscene? Jus Sayin

I think Mr Bekier is getting a long way in front of himself to think that international tourism is just around the corner!

Absolutly disgusted that a lady living in Mornington in regional Vic (no CV cases) was fined for travelling 13km to her farm to feed her horses by the Vic ‘gestapo’ police. She would be fined for cruelty to animals otherwise! Clearly Vic police are insensitive robots. And ScoMo says we’re all Melburnians ... I don’t think so. Nig

So many smiling faces, relaxed converstaion at the local shops. It’s lovely to see. But don’t lose focus, at least for the time being, as what is happening in Victoria could be us. Uncle Ed
